Reviewed by Pompey Chimes - July 2009 Author Lucy Moore has written her latest book which helps to tell the story of creation in a vivid way. Colourful Creation is a book designed for children aged five to seven, which includes beautifully detailed illustrations by popular artist Honor Ayres. Lucy, from St Wilfrid's Church, Cowplain, helps children to see the world that God made as their own responsibility and to play a part in looking after it. The Bookseller described it as: "A brilliant retelling of the Creation story in rhyme. The book progresses from the 'dank and dreary' to a final gatefold spread with flaps. The illustrations go superbly with the text and become progressively brighter." Reviewed by The Good Bookstall - May 2009 The illustrations first caught my eye being bright but slightly muted, softer than many books for little ones and that appealed. Then I turned to the words and smiled straight away as I began to read. They cry out to be read aloud; in fact it is hard not to do so even when you are on your own reviewing! Told in delightful rhyme, the story of creation becomes fun and reader and the little one are going to enjoy this book over and over again.
