From The Church Times - September 2008 Well worth the cost is Footsteps to the Feast by Martyn Payne. Twelve two-hour workshop-style sessions prepare six-to-ten-year-olds for annual church festivals, including Harvest, and Michaelmas (but not Mothering Sunday). A good introduction and child-protection guidelines take us into a book that every leader of a children's group will find invaluable. The sessions are well designed and paced, with a wealth of games and activities to help children to understand and engage with the festivals. A good act of worship concludes each workshop. The sessions require a good deal of planning and preparation, but that is flagged up. Church groups could have a wonderful time with their children by following this book's suggestions.
