Assemblies for Spring and Summer Festivals (PDF Download) This book is a companion volume to Assemblies for Autumn Festivals and is packed with a further 36 tried and tested assembly ideas, designed to resource the second and third terms of the school year. The ideas fall under four main themes: Saints of Britain, Faith in action, The life of Jesus and Special days and celebrations. There is a wealth of material to choose from within each theme. The assemblies can be used either in date order or as a set of assemblies on one of the key themes. For completeness, cross-curricular links for the classroom are included with each theme.
Our Christmas Play is an easy-to-perform play for use with Foundation/Reception and Key Stage One pupils. The performance is ideal as part of a whole school presentation, as a class or year group assembly, as a school production with parents and visitors present, or as a celebration in church. In the play, the story starts and ends in Joseph's carpentry workshop. The traditional Christmas story is told through narration, mime and singing to popular nursery rhyme tunes, ensuring that pupils of all abilities are enabled to participate fully in the performance.
