Story Assemblies of 24 Saints features a wealth of saints' days spread across the school year from September to July, making it an ideal ongoing resource and enabling teachers to opt in at any time. The material contains 24 complete assembly plans ready for teachers to pick off the shelf and deliver as a whole school, year group or classroom assembly. Ideal for KS1 and KS2. Assemblies for Spring and Summer Festivals (PDF Download) This book is a companion volume to Assemblies for Autumn Festivals and is packed with a further 36 tried and tested assembly ideas, designed to resource the second and third terms of the school year. The ideas fall under four main themes: Saints of Britain, Faith in action, The life of Jesus and Special days and celebrations. There is a wealth of material to choose from within each theme. The assemblies can be used either in date order or as a set of assemblies on one of the key themes. For completeness, cross-curricular links for the classroom are included with each theme. Our Christmas Play is an easy-to-perform play for use with Foundation/Reception and Key Stage One pupils. The performance is ideal as part of a whole school presentation, as a class or year group assembly, as a school production with parents and visitors present, or as a celebration in church. In the play, the story starts and ends in Joseph's carpentry workshop. The traditional Christmas story is told through narration, mime and singing to popular nursery rhyme tunes, ensuring that pupils of all abilities are enabled to participate fully in the performance.
This book is full of memorable stories, designed to engage and delight pupils at primary level. The stories are essentially parables about God and the events of the Bible, creatively told to help children understand the big story of God's love for the world. There are six themes in total, each with its own easy-to-make storytelling prop. The stories within each theme are divided into six weekly episodes, covering a wide range of contemporary values and topics. Together the stories cover the whole school year, with a key theme and a story in six parts for each half-term period.
Reflective Learning provides KS2 teachers with essential background information for key Christian beliefs and offers important tools to instil confidence in the teaching of RE. The eleven units focus on three key concepts related to the principal beliefs of the Christian faith - Who God is (the Trinity), What God has done (Salvation) and The Church today.
This book comprises 16 field-tested story scripts, based on the life of Jesus, and designed to stimulate reflective thinking in children of all ages from 4-11. Each unit contains a story synopsis, differentiated storytelling, symbols to explore, reflective activities, optional prayers, background information and links to useful websites.
Collective worship provides an important opportunity at the beginning of the school day to address the 'awe' and 'wonder' part of learning. With this in mind, this book offers tried and tested primary assemblies with a Christian focus for Key Stages 1 and 2. Each assembly is complete and ready-to-run, with memorable stories, Bible links written in full, ideas for visual aids, helpful hints, prayers, suggested songs and follow-up material. The assemblies cover a host of themes, some topical, some on moral and personal development, citizenship, or spiritual values, and some linking in to seasons of the Christian year.
Drawn from all four Gospels, the pieces are 'unplugged' in that they get to the heart of the biblical text, reflecting the life of Jesus in action-who he is, what he said and what he did.
Features the key stories of David, Jesus and Peter, plus three theme songs especially written for the book. Offers a range of different storytelling approaches (interactive, shared narration and drama). The extension activities are devised for a full range of PSHE/Citizenship links and the book includes photocopy permission for the full-page illustrations and diagrams. |
